VILLAGE VOICE: Midsummer Celebration Parade scheduled Saturday (Monroe County Clarion)

The Valmeyer Village Board of Trustees has authorized the formation of a committee to begin planning festivities and events for the Centennial of the Village to be celebrated during 2009. Anyone interested in serving on that committee should attend the next meeting of the group scheduled for 7 p.m. July 31 at the Valmeyer Public Library, 300 S. Cedar Bluff Drive.

Township Saves On Insurance (Des Plaines Journal)

The Maine Township Board of Trustees last week approved a change to the township's insurance plan from Unicare to Blue Cross/Blue Shield for its staff of over 40 persons. As a result, the Township will save over $180,000 in the first year with similar savings anticipated in future years.

Maryville approves development projects (Collinsville Herald)

Wednesday night was all business, as the Maryville Board of Trustees moved forward on a number of pending projects located along Illinois Route 159.
